Title: "Missy"
Artist: Teresa L. Werth
Window Dimensions: 27 1/2" x 24 1/2"

"Missy" is painted in arcylic on an original bottom cabinet door discovered in a crawl space of the Reuben Dake School during the recent junior high school renovations. I must admit to having a fascination with deer. There is something amazing to me about having such large creatures roaming free among us. Despite the damage I know they cause to landscaping and to cars, I am charmed by their grace and beauty. Their form is elegant and their quiet, gentle nature has always captivated me. I appreciate them most in the Adirondacks where they seem truly "at home." I never tire of looking at their eyes and observing them when they don't seem to know I'm watching. "Missy" is a simple tribute to my fondness for deer. The door is oak with a golden oak finish and measures 271/2" x 24 1/2". The nine-pane top door panel was used by Ali Carter in his writing desk.
