Title: "Seventeen Seventy Five"
Artist: Diego and Kari Ruiz
Window Dimensions: 43" x 34"

Through war, depression and the industrial age, some scenes have remained
constant and unchanged. Central New York is one of the fortunate regions that
have been relatively unspoiled by careless overdevelopment. Its woods and
lake front provide an opportunity to view life as it was.

Diego Manuel Rangel Ruiz
Originally from southern California, Diego moved east in search of a place
that would be an inspiration for creativity. He met his wife in Ohio, and
together they moved back to her home in Central New York. Diego got an early
introduction to stained glass from his mother, and in later years, from his
uncle. When it came time to create his own work, the process was already
familiar, inspiration and studio space were all that were necessary. With the
recent purchase of a home in Union Springs, Diego is realizing his dream. He
has completed several commissioned works, the latest of which are installed in
the historic Auburn Diner in Auburn New York.

Kari Ganoung Ruiz
After growing up in Interlaken New York, Kari attended Ashland University
in Ashland Ohio. There she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Fine
Art, with a major in painting. She has completed a number of commissioned
projects, including a mural on the exterior of the American Primitive Art
Gallery formerly located in Ovid, as well as many murals that decorate the
interior walls of the South Seneca Central School buildings in Ovid and
Interlaken. Kari is currently employed at MacKenzie-Childs Ltd. in Aurora New
York where she is a furniture decorator and faux painter.
